A Day in the Life: Working at Sutryk & Son, Inc.
Hello there! I’m excited to share what a typical day looks like for those of us working at Sutryk & Son, Inc. As part of the team delivering reliable roofing and siding services throughout the region, every day brings new challenges and rewards.
Morning Routine: 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM
My alarm sounds early, usually around 5:30 AM. After a quick breakfast and coffee, I arrive at our company yard by 6:30 AM. This gives me time to:
- Check my work truck and ensure all equipment is accounted for
- Review the day’s job locations and material requirements
- Attend our brief morning meeting where we discuss safety protocols and daily goals
First Job Site: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
By 8:00 AM, we’re typically at our first location. Whether we’re installing new roofing, replacing damaged siding, or conducting inspections, precision is key. Our crew works efficiently together, with each person having specific responsibilities:
- Setting up safety equipment and preparing the work area
- Carefully removing old materials when necessary
- Inspecting the underlying structure for any hidden damage
- Installing new materials according to manufacturer specifications
Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Even on busy days, we make time for a quick lunch. Sometimes we eat at a local deli near the job site, other times we bring lunch from home. This short break gives us a chance to rest and rehydrate before tackling the afternoon’s work.
Afternoon Projects: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
The afternoon might involve continuing work at the morning location or traveling to a second job site. Customer communication is an important part of our work – we take time to explain what we’re doing and answer any questions homeowners might have about their project.
Weather can sometimes throw us curveballs, but our team is adaptable. We’ve become experts at protecting work-in-progress from unexpected rain showers!
Wrap-Up: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
At the end of the workday, we:
- Clean up the job site completely – leaving no trace of debris
- Document the day’s progress with photos and notes
- Return to the yard to unload and secure equipment
- Prepare materials and tools for the next day
